A felony is defined as a serious crime carrying a potential penalty of going to prison for over six months, a hefty fine and even sentenced to death in Ohio. The most serious felony is aggravated murder; other felonies include but are not limited to murder, domestic violence and assault, drug possession or trafficking, drug paraphernalia, kidnapping, rape and robbery.
Being charged with a felony does not necessarily have to result in incarceration. I have helped many clients get their charges reduced, sometimes dismissed. I have helped others enter into programs where if the person completes a treatment program, the charges are dismissed and the record of the charges sealed from the public records.
